Therapy can help people use themselves more effectively and be more clear about their goals. In the therapeutic relationship, people can become more aware in a safe environment and can learn to change what seem to be automatic responses. People may see how they have been getting in their own way through destructive thinking, emotional and relationship patterns. Although I tend to focus with people on the present, important links to the past often show up through feelings and thoughts. Frequently people come up against distortions & hidden issues.
